With most of the Christmas themed movies now out the studios are looking for similar themed projects and a fierce bidding war broke out for a film that has been pitched as ‘Bridesmaids in the North Pole’ although its actual title will be, ‘Naughty’. So what do we know about the naughty Christmas film?
The film comes from screenwriter Jimmy Warden whose quirky comedy film ‘Cocaine Bear’ that was based on a true story was out earlier this year. His latest script was sold on spec having gone to auction with Universal studios winning and purportedly features a story that follows Mallory, whose only hope of securing custody of her son from her gaslighting trash-bag ex is to find Santa Claus and convince him to testify in her divorce hearing.
Producing will be Lucky Chap productions Margot Robbie’s company that has had a string of hits this year that have included Saltburn and of course Barbie, 2023’s most successful film at the box office. Like Warden’s previous film Cocaine Bear this new script will also be helmed by a female director and it will be Olivia Wilde of of several high profile and much sought after female directors.
We can expect to see a Naughty Christmas most likely in Christmas 2025
