So with Brad and Angelina having set up camp in the UK recently and Brad having been spotted shopping in B&Q recently it’s been revealed that principal photography is underway on Paramount Pictures and GK Films’ “ALLIED,” starring Pitt the Elder and Academy Award®-winner Marion Cotillard (“THE DARK KNIGHT RISES,” “LA VIE EN ROSE”). The film is directed by Academy Award®-winning director Robert Zemeckis (“THE WALK,” “FORREST GUMP”).
As well as London it will also be shooting in the Canary Islands.
The romantic thriller features an original story written by Steven Knight (“THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY,” “DIRTY PRETTY THINGS”). Joining Pitt and Cotillard are Jared Harris (“LINCOLN,” “MAD MEN”), Lizzy Caplan (“Masters of Sex,” “NOW YOU SEE ME 2”), and Matthew Goode (“Downton Abbey,” “THE IMITATION GAME”)
Graham King (“RANGO,” “THE DEPARTED”), Zemeckis, and Steve Starkey (“FLIGHT,” “REAL STEEL”) are producing.
“ALLIED” is the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt), who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war. The film will be released on November 23, 2016.
Robert Zemeckis will be wanting this to be a hit after his 3D film THE WALK nosedived making only $60m worldwide.
