Modern day horror maestros Blumhouse Porductions are to takeover the Halloween franchise but the good news is that its original director John Carpenter is to return as an executive producer.
Blumhouse will co-finance development and production with MiraMax Films who hold worldwide distribution rights but have yet to announce a theatrical distribution partner.
The Halloween franchise started in 1978 and has spawned 10 films generating a total of nearly $400m in worldwide box office.
John Carpenter commented that: “38 years after the original Halloween, I’m going to help to try to make the 10th sequel the scariest of them all.”
We’ll see…….Halloween 3 was about as frightening as……well, the day before Halloween.
