....for the caveman it wasn't the invention of fire or the wheel that was important but dentistry....

With Eddie Redmayne’s appearance in ‘The Danish Girl’ bringing back painful memories for the Editor and a holiday he took in Thailand he can be reassured that there will be no confusion about the Oscar winning actor lending his voice over talents to the new Aardman animation feature film as the lead character Dug in prehistoric comedy adventure ‘Early Man’

He’s the first cast member to be announced for the project which has just begun production and is again being directed by another Oscar winner Nick Park. This will be the first film Park has directed since Wallace And Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit, which won the Oscar for best animated feature.

Redmaynes’ Dug will have a sidekick called Hognob though but it’s not known if this will be a voiceless character like Gromit and the pair of them unite their tribe against the Bronze Age.

Release date for the UK is  Jan 26, 2018.
