With the sequel to ‘Independence Day’ not far off Jeff Goldblum has been talking not only about its release but also about another blockbuster that he appeared in over 20 years the munching monster movie ‘Jurassic Park’ and he was asked about appearing in any sequel after the huge success of ‘Jurassic World’ to which he replied……. “Yes, in 20 years! Nah, I have no plans. They’re doing very well without me.”
He was pushed a little more about his somewhat distinctive perfomance being central to the original film he replied, ‘Yes, yes, but what movie doesn’t need a little seasoning of Goldblum? So few. The Danish Girl? No, not really. Not that one.”
So is there any chance he may pop up again in a future Jurassic sequel especially as the next film is set for a Summer 2018 release?
He went on to say, ‘I’m nothing if not open. I’m like an open-faced sandwich. My door is not always open — I took the door off. I removed the hinges from the door. I’m too open. I’m like a chicken piccata. What was I about to say? Oh yes, the two [Jurassic] movies I did with them were plenty. If I never did anything more, I’d certainly be well satisfied’
Well quite. Seems that he and Eric Cantona, the footballer turned actor, are both prone to bonkers mad philosophical outpourings. But it seems safe to assume that he’s unlikely to be back.
