Possessor limited edition - we take a look at the sci-fi body horror

Canadian director David Cronenberg has put some disturbing images on the big screen whether it be exploding heads in Scanners, pistols pulled from stomachs in Videodrome, vomiting human-fly hybrids in The Fly and lets not start on what the characters get up to in Crash (1996). And the apple didn’t fall far from the tree when his son Brandon Cronenberg began directing and Possessor continues his father’s fascination with body horror and is his best film to date celebrated with the release of the Possessor limited edition box set.

On the surface Tasya Vos (Andrea Riseborough – Mathilda) appears to be a regular woman with a son and husband waiting for her at home when she returns from her ‘business’ trips. But there’s more to her than meets the eye… As an elite corporate assassin, Tasya takes control of other people’s bodies using brain implant technology to execute high-profile targets. With each hit comes a stronger lust for blood, and her newfound thirst for killing throws the whole operation into jeopardy. (Read our review HERE)
