After the controversy that surrounded Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Mother‘ it seems that Jennifer Lawrence has moved on both from dating the director and also on to more familiar thriller territory in her next film’ Red Sparrow’.
She stars as a former ballet dancer recruited to join a secret intelligence service that trains exceptional young people to use their bodies and minds as weapons. After enduring the perverse and sadistic training process, she emerges as the most dangerous Sparrow the program has ever produced and must now reconcile the person she was with the power she now commands.
Co-starring Joel Edgerton, Matthias Schoenaerts, Charlotte Rampling, Mary-Louise Parker, and Jeremy Irons it’s directed by Martin Lawrence who made Constantine, I am Legend and directed Lawrence in the last three Hunger Games films.
Rumours that our Editor auditioned for the lead role only to find that the film would have to be re-titled, ‘The Great Tit’, remain unfounded (‘You’re fired!’ – Ed)
It opens in the US and the UK on 2nd March 2018.
