Samara Weaving is the ball busting Bella!

With John Wick Chapter 4 doing huge business it director Chad Stahleski is going to produce a more female centric actioner where Samara Weaving is the ball busting Bella….for that will be the films title Bella that is not Ball Busting Bella though we’re pretty sure that will be going on!

Paramount Pictures are developing the action thriller with waving who made an impact with Ready or Not and made a cameo in the opening scene of the recently release Scream 6. Directing will be Larysa Kondracki whose previous includes episodes on such notable TV series as Better Call Saul, The Americans, The Fix, Power and Power Book IV: Force. Her feature directorial debut was the Rachel Weisz crime drama The Whistleblower. Jason Markarian has  scripted the most recent draft of the script, with Jesse Wigutow doing a script polish.

The film will be set against the backdrop of a crime wave that gripped New York City in the ’80s and Bella will be a hyper stylized action thriller about a cop’s daughter who, as her father clings to life following an assassination attempt, goes on a rampage to unearth her father’s attacker and weed out deep-rooted corruption in the New York City Police Department.

Producer Craig Flores says, “Bella cleverly reinvents the female-led action genre pairing a sexy and unapologetic rock ‘n’ roll edge with the gritty heightened realism of ’80s New York City. Collaborating with Chad Stahelski and 87Eleven, whose talent is singular in bringing unparalleled action films to worldwide audiences, is a dream for me, Larysa, and Samara.”

Samara Weaving is next in Searchlight’s upcoming Chevalier but has also appeared in Paramount’s Babylon, starred in Bill & Ted Face the Music and the actioner Snake Eyes as well as the little seen Guns Akimbo that starred Daniel Radcliffe.
