Samuel L Jackson is generally regarded as the hardest working man in showbiz with the films he appears in being massively successful which in turn makes him the highest earner. However by our reckoning Michael Fassbender can’t be far behind in terms of output because since the beginning of 2016 he’s been in six films including X Men Apocalypse, Assassin’s Creed, & Alien Covenant all big budget films with long shooting schedules. Quite when he sleeps is anyone’s guess.
The next film he’s in this year is the grisly thriller The Snowman based on Jo Nesbo’s Harry Hole detective novels and is one of those Scandanavian novels that, much like Stieg Larsson’s dragon tattoo books, we all went so crazy for. At on time it was rumoured to be directed by Martin Scorsese but Swede Tomas Alfredson takes the directing reins which is no bad thing as his back catalogue includes Let the Right One In & Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
Here Fassbender’s detective investigates the disappearance of a woman whose pink scarf is found wrapped around an ominous-looking snowman. It’s better than it sounds and here’s the trailer……
