So with Michael Keaton reportedly dropping out from playing the villain in Sony’s newly announced ‘Spideman:Homecoming’ the studio have just let slip that Robert Downey Jr is to pop up as Iron Man possibly as a favour to Spidey turning up in the new Captain America: Civil War.
Downey himself has also been speaking quite freely about doing another Sherlock Holmes with Guy Ritchie who, having finished shooting his King Arthur film is looking for his next project. Seeing as the first two films made $524m and $545m respectively it was inevitable a third film would happen if only they could get Downey out of that Iron Man costume.
We just hope its not a genre mash up as the thought of Holmes saying ‘Elementary my dear Watson’ whist rockets shoot out of his deerstalker is enough to make Sir Arthur Conan Doyle spin in his grave.
