A new role ideal for Shia LaBeouf………

.......the actor suddenly realised he should have gone to the toilet before filming began............

We’ve had some cracking sports films over the years with the Oscar nominated Steve Carell starrer , ‘Foxcatcher’ being one of the best recently.

Tennis is getting its turn now with principal photography having just started on Borg/McEnroe, ….we can’t be sure but we think this might be about Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe (‘Genius, Sherlock!’ – Ed) and focuses on the famous rivalry between the two tennis stars which came to a head at Wimbledon 1980.

Shia LaBeouf plays McEnroe while new Swedish talent Sverrir Gudnason plays Borg in the film directed by Janus Metz – director of Cannes-winning documentary ‘Armadillo’ and episodes of the acclaimed HBO drama True Detective.

Borg’s coach Lennart Bergelin will be played by the ever great Stellan Skarsgård (The Avengers, Mamma Mia), and this is his first Swedish film in more than 10 years , while Björn’s fiancée Mariana Simionescu is to be played by Swedish actress Tuva Novotny (Eat Pray Love). US tennis playboy Vitas Gerulaitis will be played by Robert Emms (Mirror Mirror, War Horse) and McEnroe’s father will be played by Ian Blackman (The Bourne Legacy, Hail Caesar!). Shooting has already begun and locations include Gothenburg, Prague, London and Monaco.

The part of hothead McEnroe would seem ideal for Shia LeBeouf (‘Doesn’t that translate as Shia the beef?’ – Ed) who has had his fair share of meltdowns having turned up at red carpet premieres with a bag on his head, been thrown out of venues for his anti social behaviour and bonkers best of all was his viral rant about motivation which we proudly present here…….be afraid, be very afraid……
