It’s proved quite lucrative for Disney to make live action versions of their classic animations. ‘Alice in Wonderland’ made over $1billion worldwide and ‘Maleficent’ made a not inconsiderable $758m. Next up is ‘Beauty and the Beast’ which many of our writers thought was the Editor’s wedding video (‘How dare you refer to my wife as a beast!’- Ed).
In the lead roles will be Emma Watson and Dan Stevens with Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson in support.
The film opens March 17th 2017 in the US & UK.
