Bohemian Rhapsody 2 ?

.......Rami had no idea who the pensioner and the blind man were that stood either side of him....

So with Bohemian Rhapsody earning $875m worldwide (making it the most successful musical bio-pic ever) and also winning 4 Oscars including one for Rami Malek as Best Actor the word is out for a sequel – Bohemian Rhapsody 2.

And that rumour has been started by Rudi Dolezal, a filmmaker who directed numerous music videos for Queen albeit the less memorable ones (Too much love will kill you, These are the days of out lives and somewhat ironically, The Show must go on ….when Freddie Mercury was at death’s door). He developed a close working relationship with singer Mercury and its him that has said that he is in no doubt that a sequel tentatively titled Bohemian Rhapsody 2 to the Oscar winning film biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” will happen.

He has gone on to say that Queen’s manager Jim Beach (Tom Hollander in the film) and who also produced the film has “plans for a sequel that starts with Live Aid”. Dolezal has also stated that a sequel is, “being heavily discussed in the Queen family” (the band not the royal one).

At present Bohemian Rhapsody ends with Mercury and the band’s barnstorming and iconic Live Aid performance at Wembley in 1985 with a coda about the singers death in 1991 from an AIDS related illness. The band’s poodle haired guitar god and legend Brian May has previously hinted about a sequel to the film with more of Mercury’s tale to tell.

But of course there is inevitably news to the contrary because it has been reported that a friend of actor Rami Malek tells the outlet that they hadn’t heard of any talk about a new film, and further more a representative for Queen’s record label says they have not heard about any sequel either.

However when a film makes $875m studio execs must be keen for Bohemian Rhapsody 2.
