Vertigo Releasing is thrilled to release UK poster plus the BOILING POINT trailer, now set for a release in UK and Irish cinemas on 3rd December 2021. The ‘one-take’ film stars BAFTA nominee Stephen Graham (The Irishman) as a head chef pushed to his limits. The film is directed by Philip Barantini, whom Vertigo previously worked with when they released his debut feature, Villain. Barantini and writer James Cummings adapted BOILING POINT from Barantini’s BIFA-nominated short of the same name, which also starred Graham.
The Boling Point trailer is set on ‘Magic Friday’, the last Friday before Christmas and the busiest night of the year. Andy Jones, Head Chef at one of the top restaurants in London, is battling debts, addiction and an imploding personal life. The pressure is already on when health and safety services unexpectedly show up for inspection. Shot in a single take, in and out of a kitchen reaching boiling point.
Jason Flemyng (Snatch), Ray Panthaki (Colette), BAFTA winner Malachi Kirby and Vinette Robinson (Star Wars Ep: IX) star alongside Graham. The film is receiving its UK Premiere tonight (11th October 2021) at the BFI London Film Festival at the Prince Charles Cinema with the key filmmakers and cast in attendance. This follows its World Premiere at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival back in August, where actress Vinette Robinson won a jury award for her performance. Since then, the film has secured widespread critical acclaim.
BOILING POINT was a one-take production with its expected shoot schedule halved to two days, in order to complete filming before lockdown commenced. Shooting wrapped just five days before the pandemic forced the government to shut down the film industry, making it the last film to be on set in March 2020. Nearly all of the post production was completed remotely during the first lockdown
