Finally a 2nd film from Joe Cornish………

........Joe was able to point the way forward.......

It all seems a bit of a distant memory now but Joe Cornish along with his best mate Adam Buxton made the very funny TV show called , unsurprisingly , The Adam & Joe show and featured amusingly daft skits like Baadass Dad,  and their Lego movie tributes before they went their separate ways with Adam making very funny blogs, downloads and stand up shows whilst Joe…well Joe started writing and directing feature films with his first and to date only feature being the rather good monster movie,  ‘Attack the Block. He then went on to co write the screenplay for Spielberg’s TinTin movie as well as the recent Ant Man movie.

But its been a long time coming before he’s finally got round to writing and directing his second film and that film will be THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING which started principal photography in London this week.

THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING tells the story of Alex, a twelve-year-old British schoolboy whose everyday problems are dwarfed by his discovery of the mythical sword Excalibur. Now, with the most powerful sword in history in the hands of the most powerless schoolboy in Britain, an epic adventure begins as Alex and his friends must thwart a medieval villain named Morgana, who is hell-bent on destroying the world.

Louis Serkis (Andy Serkis’s son) stars as Alex. Newcomer Dean Chaumoo plays his best friend Bedders and Tom Taylor (The Dark Tower) and Rhianna Doris (Secret Life of Boys) play Lance and Kaye, who complete Alex’s band of would-be warriors. Angus Imrie (Kingdom) plays a young incarnation of the wizard Merlin, with Sir Patrick Stewart as the senior version. Rebecca Ferguson plays the evil Morgana.

Far too early yet for any shots from set or a trailer but as soon as we get them we’ll post them on the site
