In the six years since the release of Get Out (reviewed HERE) the exploration of black themed films, tropes, issues and stereotypes and a number of great black actors and film makers have emerged ans taking a comic look at the representation of the black community in horror films is the release of the Blackening trailer
The Blackening centres around a group of friends who reunite for a Juneteenth weekend getaway only to find themselves trapped in a remote cabin with a twisted killer. Forced to play by his rules, the friends soon realise this ain’t no mother****** game.
Starring Grace Byers, Jermaine Fowler, Melvin Gregg, X Mayo, Dewayne Perkins, Antoinette Robertson, Sinqua Walls along with Jay Pharoah and Yvonne Orji this does look like it has the potential to be very funny.
The Blackening is released in Cinemas 25th August
