The cast of the new Robin Hood film will include…….

The last proper Robin Hood film we had was Ridley Scott’s hugely expensive ($200m) 2010 film starring Russell Crowe and his wandering accent. Over the years we’ve had every one from Errol Flynn to Kevin Costner to Cary Elwes and even a fox playing the role (alright it was the Disney version).

Not sure that we really want yet another film about a bloke in tights mincing about Sherwood Forest with another group of similarly clad men but the studios would disagree and so we have Taron Egerton as the man himself in the film to be called,  ‘Robin Hood: Origins’.

Directed by Otto Bathurst whose done a load of TV but this is his feature film debut the film has a pretty eclectic cast and will include Australian comedian and musician Tim Minchin as Friar Tuck and Jamie Dornan, Eve Hewson, Ben Mendelsohn, Paul Anderson and for US audiences they’ve also cast Jamie Foxx.

It’s to be an action-adventure film that follows the war-hardened Crusader (Taron Egerton) and a Moorish commander (Jamie Foxx) who mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown.

Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the producers and the film opens March 23rd 2018.

Hmmmmm we’re not sure about this one…..
