Though it doesn’t seem to be on anymore our Editor was a competitor on the late afternoon TV series, ‘Can’t Cook Won’t Cook’ a sort of head to head contest between chefs concocting a recipe out of the ingredients that their member of the public team mate, bring in for them in a plastic bag. Our Editor, having had a skinful to give himself the courage to go on the show, bought in plastic bag containing an onion, a dead crow, a piece of Lego and some wilted flowers he found tied to the the railings at the scene of a traffic accident. To no ones surprise his episode was never transmitted. We only mention this as recipes and home cooking seem to be a feature of The Five Devils trailer that landed in our inbox.
The Five Witches stars Adèle Exarchopoulos (Blue is the Warmest Colour), Daphne Patakia (Benedetta), Swala Emati, Moustapha Mbengue, and introducing Sally Dramé, this enigmatic tale of family mystery and fantasy received its World Premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival in Directors’ Fortnight.

Vicky (Sally Dramé), a strange and solitary little girl, has a magical gift: she can reproduce any scent she likes, and collects them in a series of carefully labeled jars. She has secretly captured the scent of Joanne (Adèle Exarchopoulos), her mother for whom she nurtures a wild, excessive love. When her father’s sister Julia (Swala Emati) bursts into their life, Vicky reproduces her smell and is transported into dark and archaic memories which lead her to uncover the secrets of her village, her family and her own existence.
