Here trailer - Zemeckis ages and de-ages Tom Hanks...

Though Robert Zemeckis has had a string of huge hits most notably with the Back to the Future films over thirty years ago he has had chequered success since. So for every Forrest Gump, Cast Away and What Lies Beneath there’s been most recently The Walk, Allied and his live action Pinocchio reboot. But his favoured actor Tom Hanks who has been in many of his films appears in a role that sees him de-aged and aged with the release of the ‘Here’ trailer.

Here tells the story of multiple families over the course of generations, with the entire film taking place in a single location, which becomes the home where Hanks’ and Wright’s characters reside. The trailer shows an early exchange between the characters, along with glimpses at their future ups and downs. “Time sure does fly, doesn’t it?” Hanks tells Wright in the trailer, leading her to reply, “It sure does.”Then later on Hanks invites Wright to stay over at his home: “You know, if you like, you could spend the rest of the night here.” She responds, “I could spend the rest of my life here.” And the pair of them do for the entire film

Here is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Richard McGuire and Zemeckis co-wrote the script with Eric Roth and Paul Bettany, Kelly Reilly and Michelle Dockery round out the cast. The film uses the generative AI-driven tool called Metaphysic Live to age and de-age the actors. Roth, Hanks and Wright, all previously collaborated with Zemeckis on 1994’s Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump.

Here will be released on 15th November 2024
