To have served in the British military and seen conflict and then go on to success in film is what James Clarke, Steven Blades and Tom Leigh have achieved with their new film, ‘Sunray Fallen Soldier’. All served in the British marines and since then have gone on to work in film.
Fallen Solider follows a war veteran who calls on friends from his past to hunt down those responsible for the death of his daughter. Along the way, he learns more about himself than he anticipated as a violent crime syndicate unravels in his wake. (read our review here)
James Clarke has co-written and co-directed the film with Daniel Shepherd and starring in the film is Steven Blades and Tom Leigh.
James originally pursued a career in video game artistry, attending Teesside University in 2010. However, after graduating in 2013, he pivoted toward a new path and joined the Royal Marines Commandos. During his five years of service with the Royal Marines, James trained extensively across the globe and deployed on humanitarian missions, including Operation Ruman in 2017. Following his military career, James transitioned to a creative role as a full-time photographer and filmmaker for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.
At 16 Steven joined the Royal Marines Commando basic training and went on to gain operational experience in Afghanistan. After leaving the military Steven specialised in Maritime Security, protecting commercial vessels and their crew from Somali Pirates. He also worked in Close Protection for a decade, providing personal security to high profile individuals, before pursuing a career in film and television.
Tom became an actor in his twenties after serving with the Royal Marines Commandos for many years. He has performed plays off West End (The Other Palace) and internationally in Canada and has Military advised a number of high profile projects on both screen and stage, all celebrated for their military components.
