Friday Night Dinner director's film.....

Steve Bendelack may not be a household name but as a director he has two BAFTA nominations to his name and a list of hugely impressive credits that incudes The League of Gentleman, Spitting Image, Little Britain, French & Saunders, The Royle Family and of course Friday Night Dinner.  Film wise he has also helmed Mr bean’s Holiday and …ur..the Harry Hill movie. But the Friday Night Dinner director’s film that he will next helm is a comedy movie about an ageing rock band who reunite. Titled ‘Heavenly Waters the film will shoot in Greece later this year.

The film is the writing debut of producer Kim Leggatt (The Veteran, Eichmann) and actor David Schaal (The Office, The Inbetweeners and Bermondsey Tales).  Heavenly Waters tells the story of a rock band who, after an acrimonious split in the 1970s, agree to come together in Greece to scatter the ashes of their biggest fan, but things don’t go according to plan.

Casting for the film begins shortly with the producers planning to release the film theatrically in 2025.
