Having single handedly rejuvenated the predator franchise (‘Prey’ was shown on Hulu and landed an Emmy nomination for Outstanding TV Movie!) director Dan Trachtenberg is, to the surprise off many, developing a Sleeping Beauty film!
The project is in early development and, as he did with his Predator reboot, taking the classic fairy tale in an entirely new direction with Trachtenberg’s distinct spin on the tale. What is known that it will not be tied to Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent films and will take a new approach to the story. Trachtenberg and Rayna McClendon came up with the new story, with Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf penning the script. Anfanger and Schimpf are the co-creators of the Comedy Central series Big Time In Hollywood, FL.
But before then the director is currently in pre-production on a top-secret pic at Paramount.
