So as the search for the new Bond moves into its final stages talk has turned to who might play his nemesis and actress Saoirse Ronan has thrown her hat into ring and in fairness Saoirse Ronan Bond villain sounds good to us although she wont have been the first female to do so with Sophie Marceau having played Elektra King in ‘The World is Not Enough’ in 1999. Now her husband Jack Lowden is purportedly in the running to play Bond so Saoirse Ronan – Bond villain would put an interesting spin on proceedings.

In a recent interview she said, “I said that I wanted to be a Bond villain and I’m dead serious,” she added. “I think it would be really interesting, having a young female villain. Especially for girls and women, to see someone who can just take all that pent-up anger and direct it somewhere, there’s something interesting in that dramatically. So I would love to do more of that.”
Its not the first time she’s mentioned this telling Vanity Fair back in 2024, Explaining her love of the Bond villains, she said that she finds “the characters very interesting, adding, “I do think there’s something kind of cool about having a female villain who wants to take him down and doesn’t just want to fall in love with him.” She went on to say, ‘“I will stand by really wanting to play a Bond villain, which I will say again, I just love it. Personally we think a great and hateful Bond villain would be Meghan Markle as she’d have no acting to do whatsoever
