The title of Johnny Depp’s new film immediately caught our Editor’s attention as he thought it was a biopic about him which was highly unlikely if Johnny Depp had been cast to play him. Frankly our Editor’s belief would be more credible if the film in question was a film adaptation of Dostoevsky’s The Idiot (‘You’re fired!’ – Ed). But the trailer for Day Drinker is an interesting hybrid of several genres.
Instead DAY DRINKER, sees a private-yacht bartender (Madelyn Cline) encounter a mysterious, onboard guest (Johnny Depp). They soon find themselves entangled with a criminal figure (Penélope Cruz) and connected in ways no one saw coming.
The film is directed by Marc Webb whose previous films include the Andrew Garfield Spider Man films and most recently the disastrous live action Snow White film.
DAY DRINKER is in cinemas on 26th March 2027
