Despite the difficult conditions we lived under during the pandemic a number of films were still made. One of those films was Shadows of Beirut that’s co-written and stars Tala Calil
The film follows a young woman Lana (Tana Calil) who decides to return to Beirut to see her estranged dying father after 25 years. Between the struggle to forgive him and building up the courage to face him, she discovers the heart of her homeland through the people she meets. Read our review HERE
Shot in Bulgaria and Beirut there’s a lot to like about the film and to that end we had the opportunity to chat to Shadows of Beirut director Tina Gharavi as well as Tata and her co-star Assaad Bouab about the making of the film, real life influences and much more.
