We had the opportunity to talk at great length with Terry Gilliam about working with Shelley Duvall on Time Bandits, his hugely popular and quite brilliant fantasy film.
Time Bandits was the story of a young boy who accidentally joins a band of time travelling dwarves, as they jump from era to era looking for treasure to steal.
With its all star cast that included Sean Connery, John Cleese and Sir Ralph Richardson we got around to talking about the late great Shelley Duvall. At the time she had finished working on Robert Altman’s ‘Popeye’ and prior to that she had spent a very long time working on Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining – a thirteen month shoot that tested cast and crew to the limits.
