With his seemingly endless number of films one thing you cant ever accuse Nicolas Cage is retiring so it is fitting that landing in our inbox is The Retirement Plan trailer.
In The Retirement Plan, when Ashley (Ashley Greene) and her young daughter Sarah (Thalia Campbell) get caught up in a criminal enterprise that puts their lives at risk, she turns to the only person who can help – her estranged father Matt (Nicolas Cage), a retired beach bum. Their reunion is fleeting as they are soon tracked down by crime boss Donnie (Jackie Earle Haley) and his lieutenant (Ron Perlman). The bad guys get more than they bargained for because Matt is not the wacky character he appears to be. Soon, Ashley learns her father has a secret past now revealed as he looks to get back to the peace and quiet of retirement in paradise.
The film has something of an ensemble cast that includes Joel David Moore, Grace Byers, Ernie Hudson and Lynn Whitfield and helming it all is writer / director Tim Brown. From what we see in the trailer this promises to be a bit bonkers but very funny,
The Retirement Plan is set for a 25th August release in the US with a UK date still to be confirmed.
