A much missed franchise returns…
With Scary Movie having a long break before to returned with a sixth film the same goes with the kids favourite Ice Age with its sixth film. The fifth film, Ice Age Collision Course, was released back in 2016 and now it makes a belated return with the teaser trailer for Ice Age Boiling Point which owes a whole lot to the trailer for the first Jackass film.

The teaser trailer shows Manny (voice of Ray Romano), Diego (voice of Denis Leary), Sid (voice of John Leguizamo), Buck (voice of Simon Pegg) and Ellie (voice of Queen Latifah) – along with acorn-obsessed Scrat, Crash, Eddie and Baby Scrat – as they blast out of a volcano and straight into a dinosaur-and-lava-filled madcap adventure to visit never-before-seen corners of the treacherous Lost World.
Where did the franchise go?
The first Ice Age film earned an impressive $383m when it was released all the way back in 2002 from fledgling animation studio Blue Sky who went on to make Rio, Robots and Horton hears a Hoo amongst many others before its last film ‘Spies in Disguise’ in 2019 after which the studio shut down. Well the Ice Age was always popular and now the franchise has been resurrected by Disney and having appeared in a short film this will be Baby Scrat’s first ever theatrical appearance. For many its Scrat (we’re still not sure what animal it is bur presumably its half squirrel and half rat – whereas our Editor is half man and always half cut) who is the draw for these films and the often surreal lengths he goes to in his quest for a nut.
The film releases exclusively in cinemas on 5th February 2027.
