So though its Disney that made popular the feature length animated film starting with Snow White all the way back in 1937 there have been other studios over the past few decades such as Pixar and most recently Illumination that have made hugely popular films. Zootopia 2 zipped past the $1 billion threshold at the global box office in just 17 days. An astonishing feat that makes it the fastest-ever billion-dollar earner among all animated releases as well as PG-rated films too.
There are now 14 animated films that have swelled the ranks of the 56 other films that have exceeded the $1billion dollar mark with Disney having five billion-dollar titles since 2013.
