The Blair Witch Project was revolutionary. It’s quite brilliant marketing was ahead of the curve and its found footage genre set the standard that was much imitated, rarely equalled and never bettered. Well now the makers behind it launch their new film with the trailer for The Influencer Project.
Influencer Chiara King travels to Copenhagen with a documentary crew promising an unfiltered look behind the glamorous business of online fame. But as the cameras and her devoted fans follow her every move, someone else is watching too. When an obsessive stalker begins closing in, the documentary mutates into something far more terrifying, blurring the line between content and evidence, follower and predator, fact and fiction.
British lifestyle influencer leads this twisted tale inspired by her own experiences with stalkers, bringing a chillingly realistic edge to the story. A hugely popular online star, she has already amassed more than 4.2 million followers on TikTok and 1.4 million on Instagram. The film also marks the directorial debut of Mike Nybroe.
The Influencer Project will be in UK cinemas from 16th October, before coming to DVD, Blu-ray and all major Digital Platforms 30th November.
