Landing in our inbox is the trailer for Behemoth! that’s written and directed by Tony Gilroy and is quite the departure from the world of Star Wars that’s he’s been most recently involved in with the Andor TV series. This looks far more along the lines of his heavyweight dramas Michael Clayton and State of Play.
Behemoth follows a musician from a family of musicians who returns to Los Angeles. A love letter to the music of the movies and the people who make it.
Behind the Behemoth!
Starring Pedro Pascal in the lead tole it saw him undergo intensive training to learn to play the cello and rumour has it that members of the Labour government were considered for the role as they were regarded as they are frequently on the fiddle (‘You’re fired!’ – Ed). Co-starring is Olivia Wilde, Will Arnett, Matthew Lillard and Hank Azaria.
David Harbour later dropped out of the film due to exhaustion after filming the final season of Stranger Things and during it’s press tour. Will Arnett has stepped in to replace him. Director Tony Gilroy has stated that he will use seven different film composers on the film including his regular composer James Newton Howard alongside Oscar nominee Alan Silvestri and five more that will be named shortly. Among them is Brandon Roberts, who composed the majority of the score for the second season of Andor (TV Series 2022-2025). This is the fourth collaboration between composer James Newton Howard and writer / director Tony Gilroy, with Howard now having scored all of Gilroy’s directorial features.
