The Normal trailer is anything but!
With Bob Odenkirk having been so good as the crooked lawyer in Breaking Bad and later in the spin off series, Better Call Saul, his move into feature films was assured. But no one expected him to be an action star with the bloody and brilliant, ‘Nobody’ and its sequel which was out at the end of summer. But now we have his latest action role with the release of the, ‘Normal, trailer.
Odenkirk plays Ulysses, a man who comes to the sleepy town of Normal to serve as the temporary sheriff after the passing of the original sheriff. A bank robbery in Normal leads Ulysses to find that a criminal underground reaches throughout the entire town.
So what can we expect from the Normal trailer?
A great cast includes Henry Winkler, Lena Headey, Ryan Allen, Billy MacLellan, Brendan Fletcher, Peter Shinkoda, and Jess McLeod co-star in the film. What caught out eye is that our very own Ben Wheatley (“The Meg 2” ) is directing whose made some pretty violent shoot out type films in the past with ‘Free Fire’ and its all star cast which bodes well for what we can expect to see here. Derek Kolstad whose scripts for “John Wick” ‘Nobody’ give a clue as to just how brutal this will be writes the film from a story that he and Odenkirk created with the pair also producing. And on the trivia front this is the third movie that Odenkirk has filmed in Winnipeg in last five years. Nobody was first premiered at the Toronto Film festival to pretty to some good reviews.
It opens in the US on 17th April 2026 and in the UK on15th May 2026
