We are big fans of Peter Dinklage, a massively talented actor whose work has taken in blockbusters, TV series and heavyweight dramas but landing in our inbox is the, ‘She came to me’ trailer which looks very good.
She came to me follows an opera composer (Peter Dinklage) suffering from writer’s block who is married to a therapist (Anne Hathaway) and has a fling with a tugboat captain (Marisa Tomei), which leads to a professional breakthrough and rediscovers his passion.
Written and directed by Rebecca Miller, whose last film was the Adam Sandler starrer The Meyerowitz Stories (reviewed HERE), the film has three great leads who have all been lauded for their performances in the film when it was fist shown at the Berlin Film Festival in February 2023. Brian d’Arcy James and Joanna Kulig also star in the film
Miller describes the film as an ‘operatic comedy’ explaining, “The idea is that it’s kind of like an opera — it takes a minute to set up the scene, but once it gets going, it’s just overwhelming and beautiful and dimensional, and you get really swept up in it,”
She Came To Me had been stuck in development hell for quite some while and the original cast was going to be Steve Carell, Amy Schumer and Nicole Kidman but with the delay in the project they all had to drop out due to scheduling conflict with pother productions they were committed to as is so often the case with such in demand actors and would have bee n a very different film
She Came To Me is set for a 29th September release
