It’s safe to say that writer-director Uwe Boll is a divisive figure. With almost 40 films to his credit many of which were lambasted by critics with his video game film adaptations faring badly with 2003’s ‘House of the Dead’ regarded as one of the worst films ever made. So frequent have his films been mauled that he challenged five critics to a boxing match which is recounted in the documentary, ‘Raging Boll’. In 2016 he retired to run a restaurant with his wife but has now returned to filmmaking to write and direct, ‘First Shift’.
The film follows a NYC policer officer along with his rookie partner Angela, as they have a rough day while living the dangerous, and routine job of being a cop in the city. Read our review HERE
