Though filming has come to a stop on Deadpool 3 when the SAG strike started some behind the scenes stories are emerging most notably what Emma Corrin told the Deadpool 3 director before taking the role…..a role which we know is a villain but not which one.
Corrin had been approached about the role when doing a stage play in London saying, ‘I’d heard about the project but, classic Marvel, they couldn’t tell me anything about it,” they continued. “Absolutely nothing. Zilch. So, I met him (director Shawn Levy) being like, ‘I don’t know what this is about.’”
Corrin was the first to admit that she knew very little about the Marvel universe adding, ‘“I’ve watched Spider-Man and Black Panther. I was like, ‘Look, you’re gonna have to debrief me into this. It’s such an intricate world. There’s so much to it. It’s an absolute mind-f**k. All the language and the Easter eggs, and this person is related to that person who did this, and this person came back and this person’s dead… it’s amazing.”
But the actress started her research adding, “I really understand why it means as much as it does to so many people,” ……. “It’s a phenomenon, and I feel really lucky to be part of it, especially Deadpool because I love the fact that it’s self-aware, and critical of its own inner workings.” Quite what Emma Corrin told the director about other queries she had are yet to be spoken about
This third film sees Ryan Reynolds joined by Hugh Jackman returning to his role as Wolverine and Jennifer Garner as Elektra after a twenty year holiday from the role and Matthew MacFadyen will also appear in an unknown role. What effect the strike will have on the films release date is as yet unconfirmed
