With Denis Villeneuve confirmed to direct the next Bond film (Edward Berger was runner up for the position) under the Amazon banner and his deal means it is a one off and neither will he have final cut – something that has been a bone of contention for Christopher Nolan should he ever get offered the gig. But talks now turns to Who do Amazon want to play James Bond?
Since ‘No Time to Die’ came out there’s been al sorts of talk about who will take over the iconic role with Idris Elba being a regularly speculated name. But most persuasive has been the names of Henry Cavill and Aaron Taylor Johnson but with those actors being 42 and 35 respectively (and Elba is 52!) the word is that Amazon want someone under 30. So who have they got their eyes on?
Rumour has it that there are three actors – Jacob Elordi (“Saltburn”), Tom Holland (“Spider-Man”) and Harris Dickinson (“Babygirl”) being top if the list. Elordi is the one who might raise eyebrows as he is Australian but then in fairness so was George Lazenby.
What is known known that due to Villeneuve’s commitment to filming ‘Dune 3’ shortly he wont be available until late 2026 to direct with a new Bond film likely to be released in 2028 and before then they also have to find a screenwriter too
