One of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s biggest hits away from the action genre was the 1988 comedy Twins which he starred in alongside Danny De Vito that earned a huge $216m off a paltry $15m budget. Since then there has been much discussion about a sequel that would reunite them but with Eddie Murphy and called Triplets. But recently Danny De Vito has spoken about what’s happened to Twins 2 ?
“We missed ‘Twins 2,’ because he became governor — which, he should have done ‘Twins 2’ instead of becoming governor,” said DeVito (Schwarzenegger served as the 38th governor of Calif. from 2003 to 2011).
But it seems that they may well be making a film together even if it is not Twins 2 with De Vito hinting, “Now we have a little thing going, a little project that we’ve been chatting about.” The plans have nothing to do with Twins. “No, it’s just two friends, two guys, because we have a good time together,” DeVito said. “We complement each other in a lot of ways. I am way stronger than he is.”
He also revealed that he and Billy Crystal are planning on making a “Throw Momma From the Train” sequel, tentatively called “Throw Papa From the Train.”
DeVito is currently starring in the Broadway production of “I Need That” alongside his daughter, Lucy DeVito.
