Every so often a thriller comes along that marks out ts writer -director as a talent to keep an eye on. Think the Coen Brothers and Blood Simple and you get the idea. In this instance it is Francis Gallupi and his terrific thriller, ‘The Last Stop in Yuma County’ starring Jim Cummings & Richard Brake.
The synopsis runs as follows: While stranded at a rural Arizona rest stop, a traveling salesman is thrust into a dire hostage situation by the arrival of two bank robbers with no qualms about using cruelty-or cold, hard steel-to protect their bloodstained fortune. – Read our review HERE
Starring Jim Cummings as a knife salesman and Richard Brake as a bank robber on the run from a recent armed robbery it finds them both holed up in a remote roadside diner as tension escalates and finally boils over as more customers arrive.
Both actors are terrific and have a wealth of experience with impressive back catalogue. Jim Cummings has also directed and starred in his own films – tale a look at The Beta Test/ Whereas Richard Brake has a extensive and eclectic back catalogue that takes in films as varied as the excellent, ‘Barbarian’, TV series ‘The Mandalorian’ & Peaky Blinders, as well as the madness of Nicolas Cage film, ‘Mandy’.
