Jeremy Piven has a huge back catalogue of work that takes in a wide range of genres that has also take in Tv series such as ‘Mr Selfridge’ and perhaps most notably ‘Entourage’ that saw him play the monstrous super agent Ari Gold. The series ran from 2004 -2011 and culminated in a 2015 film and right from the start it was Piven who had the stand out role as the agent who bullied, cajoled and abused anyone in his path with his assistant Lloyd getting probably worse than anyone else. There was always talk of Ari Gold spin off film.
Entourage followed film star Vince Chase (Adrian Grenier) who navigates the vapid terrain of Los Angeles with a close circle of friends and his trusty agent, Ari Gold.
The series was aired on HBO and was an almost immediate success that saw Piven nominated for an Emmy four times and winning three time in consecutive years. The 2015 film was a moderate success earning $49m off its $30 budget. Ever since the series ended there has been talk of an Ari Gold spin off film and every so often there’s a ripple that it may be happening.
