Captain America comment is not what it seems ,,,,,,

With Captain America : Brave new World shortly to be released with Anthony Mackie now in the title role the publicity machine is cranking into gear.  While onstage in Rome to promote Disney’s upcoming film Mackie was filmed in a brief clip that went viral saying, “To me Captain America represents a lot of different things and I don’t think the term ‘America’ should be one of those representations.” But Anthony Mackie’s Captain America comment is not what it seems.

The clip raised eyebrows with people piling in with their opinion and the clip didn’t reveal the exact question the actor was answering, But the clip had been cut short and the full account of what he said was out of context as he then went on to say, ‘“It’s about a man who keeps his word, who has honor, dignity and integrity,” Mackie continued. “Someone who is trustworthy and dependable.”

The new film sees Mackie take over form Chris Evans since the 2019 film and in the interim we have had a Disney+ series which addressed the idea of what it meant for a black man to don the mantle of Captain America.

In a separate interview Mackie has said, “I feel like it’s just as important for Black kids to see a Black Captain America as it is for white kids to see a Black Captain America. Growing up my favorite hero was green. So it wasn’t about race or anything, it was about him being a good guy trying to do the right thing.”

So Anthony Mackie’s Captain America comment is not what it seems and Mackie promises to be as great in the role as Evans
