How the SAG strike is postponing these Sony film releases…..

With the SAG & WGA strikes now in full swing the impact on the the imminent release of films is now postponing these film releases with Warners already having declared about Dune and even Wonka but the SAG strike is postponing these Sony film releases…..

Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s anticipated Marvel outing “Kraven” is now moving to the 30th August 2024 having been lined up for a 6th October release 2023. With superheroes films budgets being so big the studio needs their stars onboard to promote them and a studio insiders has said that Taylor-Johnson would need to engage in a worldwide press tour to open the visceral action project in just over two months.

Next to get its release postponed is  “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,” the third film in the blockbuster Lord and Miller animated franchise. Originally meant to open open 29th March 2024  the voice cast cannot complete dialogue recording in time for the spring due to union’s work stoppage orders. A new release date is yet to be announced.

Then there’s the new Ghostbusters sequel  which has now been pushed from its 2023 Christmas date of 20th December to Easter weekend 29th March 2024.

Further down the line there’s a “Karate Kid” reboot that has also been kicked from 7th June 2024 to 13th December 2024, and the Blumhouse project “They Listen,” is also now postponed from a planned 30th August 2024 to an as yet unannounced date.

|No everything is delayed though.  Dakota Johnson fans are getting her Spider-Man universe film, “Madame Web,” on Valentine’s Day 2024 (two days earlier from its planned February 16 bow).

And Venom 3 is set for a 12th July 2024 release and Will Smith’s much needed comeback movie “Bad Boys 4” is set for 14th June. So though the SAG strike is postponing these Sony film releases it will  make 2024 a very bust years for the studio
