It has been well over a year since we got a first look at the Kraven the Hunter trailer and since then its release has been postponed. Well now we get a peak at the latest in the long line of superhero films with a new Kraven the Hunter trailer based on the iconic Spider-Man Villain.
The movie sees Aaron Taylor-Johnson take on the key role of Kraven, joined by an impressive cast including Russell Crowe as his father, Fred Hechinger as his brother, Ariana DeBose as his love interest, Levi Miller as a younger version of Kraven, and both Christopher Abbott and Alessandro Nivola as the film’s villains.
From what we’ve seen in the trailer this is pretty brutal stuff and is Sony’s first R-rated Marvel film that sees Taylor-Johnson as a Russian immigrant named Sergei Kravinoff who goes on a mission to prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world. The trailer suggests Kraven obtains superhuman strength and reflexes following his being attacked by a lion as a child.
The film was reportedly shot entirely on location in the UK and Iceland, and is directed by Oscar nominee J.C. Chandor (“A Most Violent Year”) from a screenplay co-written by Richard Wenk (“The Equalizer”), Matt Holloway, and Art Marcum. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is a name doing the rounds at the moment as a contender to play James Bond so this trailergives a peak at his action skills.
Originally slated for January 2024 the film was then set to be released on October 5th 2023 and now it is set for a December 2024 release.
