Coming from writer-director Taika Waititi is the next Goal Wins trailer a film about the worst football team ever. Now in fairness we would suggest that the AnyGoodFilms 5-a-side team are contenders for that title and our most recent match saw us almost win a game 2-1 ….in the end we lost 7-0. It was hardly helped by our Editor turning up looking like a burst recycling bag that’s been left out in the rain and even leaving him in goal saw him fall asleep in much the same way he does in the office. (‘You’re fired!’ – Ed)

NEXT GOAL WINS tells the story of the American Samoa soccer team, who suffered the worst loss in World Cup history, losing to Australia 31-0 in 2001. With the 2014 World Cup approaching, the team recruits a down on his luck, maverick coach (Michael Fassbender) to help turn their fate around.

Fassbender is joined by Elisabeth Moss, Oscar Kightley, David Fane, Beulah Koale, Lehi Falepapalangi, Semu Filipo, Uli Latukefu, Rachel House and Kaimana. Its’a typically self deprecating trailer from Taika and its great to see Michael Fassbender back on the big screen having taken a break after a few box office flops that included X-Men dark Phoenix and The Snowman, But the Next Goal Wins trailer does look pretty special as one of those underdog stories and is the first of a whole host of films that actor has coming up for release over the coming year.  Will Arnett, who also appears, replaced Armie Hammer whose shocking fall from grace seems to have put an end to his career. The Producers include Mike Brett and Steve Jamison, who directed the 2014 documentary from which the film is based.
