Chris Hansen is a well-known American businessman, entrepreneur, investigative journalist, television presenter, journalist and YouTube personality famous for his “To Catch a Predator” segments on Dateline NBC that focussed on catching online predators and was described as the favourite TV show of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor…ok we made that last bit up but we’re pretty sure he must have dreaded arriving at anyone’s home. But now what went on behind the scenes is the subject of Primetime that it stars Robert Pattinson as Hansen.

The synopsis is short – In 2006, To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen sets out to make television history!
The film stars ROBERT PATTINSON, MERRIT WEVER, SKYLER GISONDO, PHOEBE BRIDGERS, MATTHEW MAHER AND BOKEEM WOODBINE and it has the air of a potential awards contender.
Behind the scenes…
It’s been a bit of a secretive shoot and Hansen himself was denied a screening of the film because he refused to sign a standard NDA for a preview screening. And when the project was announced in October 2024, Pattinson was only officially on board as a producer. Ut was only when he was spotted filming that his on screen role was confirmed. Bizarrely its believed that Hansen’s choice to play him was Denis Leary.
According to this years Venice film festival director Alberto Barbear the film was the final addition to the Festival’s lineup. with Barbera having pursued director Lance Oppenheim for months. The film’s team was uncertain whether or not Pattinson would be available to promote the film at the festival (which is contractually obligated) due to principal photography for The Batman Part II clashing but its been confirmed that he will now also attend. Pattinson’s attendance has now been confirmed.
