So the last time Ethan Hawke, director Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange) and screenwriter C Robert Cargill worked together it was on the supremely chilling horror film, ‘Sinister’. Well now the three are back together and here’s a first glimpse at their new film with The Black Phone trailer. It an adaptation of a short story by Joe Hill, the son of Stephen King so its got a good pedigree,
Finney Shaw is a shy but clever 13-year-old boy who is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of no use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead-set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.
This is the film that director Derrickson left the Doctor Strange sequel to make and we think it looks pretty good……..let us know what you think
