With the The Devil wears Prada 2 now doing its international rollout with all the stars and far more helping promote it there is news of those dropped Prada 2 cameos and there’s a few surprises in there too.
So those dropped Prada 2 cameos were…..
Perhaps the highest profile cameo to have been dropped is that of Sydney Sweeney. Her appearance was in a three-minute scene near the beginning of the film where she appeared as herself and was being dressed for a forthcoming event by Emily Blunt’s character, Emily Charlton who in the film is now running Dior’s U.S. office. The reason for it being dropped was that the film apparently did not work structurally with the rest of the film.
Then there was Anna Wintour who was rumoured to be the inspiration behind Meryl Streep’s character. Wintour has been evasive about revealing if she had a cameo but it seems that she had a moment in the film but got ahead of her cue and was partially out of focus and director David Frankel refrained from doing another take saying, “I can’t ask Anna to do take two’.
Also dropped was ”How to Get Away With Murder” actor Conrad Ricamora, who had been cast as Andy’s (Anne Hathaway) roommate but was cut from the film after preview screenings had audiences wondering why Andy would even have a room mate
There was a rumour that Jessica Chastain was to do a cameo but it was a rumour and it was never filmed.
Those cameos that did make it to the final film included Lady Gaga, Donatella Versace and Naomi Campbell which was shot live during Milan Fashion Week.
Mercifully the filmmakers did not approach any reality show stars
