Having appeared in Hollywood films ‘Oceans 8’ actress Charlotte Kirk teamed up with director Neil Marshall ( Dog Soldiers, The Descent) and together in 2020 wrote, produced, directed and starred in The Reckoning a medieval horror film that saw her being tortured as a witch, Since then they’ve made The Lair, a sci-fi horror and their latest film is ‘Duchess’ a move away from horror to that a violent crime thriller.
Kirk plays the Duchess of the title, a tough, working-class, petty criminal who morphs into an anti-heroine to be reckoned with in a murky underworld, in the treacherous world of diamond smuggling.
Appearing alongside her is Stephanie Beacham, Colm Meaney and Neil Marshall regular Sean Pertwee with film part shot in London and also sunny Tenerife.
There’s some pretty brutal bone crunching violence in this and we had the opportunity to chat to the actress about swearing fighting and the use of a red not iron.
