Margot Robbie earns a fortune after the success of Barbie!

Way back in 1989 it was rumoured that Jack Nicholson had negotiated a ground breaking back end deal for his work as Joker in Tim Burton’s Batman. It was a canny movie as the films huge success earned him a fortune and set a gold standard for big name across in blockbusters. Well news is in that the Margot Robbie earns a fortune after the success of Barbie. With the film currently on $1.187b at the box office (and still going strong) her deal will earn her $50m and with the film on target to become the most successful of 2023 surpassing current leader The Super Mario Bros movie on $1.356b it is likely that this might be even more. Robbie is not the only one to benefit with the films director Greta Gerwig asos set to earn too.

Barbie is now the second highest-grossing release in the history of Warner Bros., behind “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.” It’s also the highest-grossing film ever from a female director, overtaking the previous record holder, “Frozen II,” which was co-directed by Jennifer Lee.

Perhaps as importantly is that its a major hit for Robbie’s own production company LuckyChap Entertainment, which she founded in 2014 with her now-husband, Tom Ackerley, and friends Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr who started the company with the aim to tell women’s stories on screen and support women creators behind the scenes. And on that front it has already had notable success the Oscar-nominated “Promising Young Woman,” the superhero sequel “Birds of Prey” and the Netflix series “Maid.” and biopic ‘I, Tonya’ that earned Robbie an Oscar nomination. With the films success it means that the studios will be keen to see what else is on the company’s slate which at present includes ab Ocean’s Eleven remake, action thriller ‘ Bad Monkeys’ and a remake of Tank Girl. So it looks certain that Margot Robbie earns a fortune with these too!
