The cameos that were cut from The Flash

With The Flash now on release there’s been much talk of the cameos appearances that crop up throughout the film especially towards the end. That there were going to be a load of cameos was hinted at right from the start with the release of the first trailer which featured Ben Affleck but most notable of all was Michael Keaton as Batman from the Tim Burton films he helmed starting back in 1991. Well The Flash director Andy Muschietti has recently spoken about them but especially about the cameos that were cut from The Flash and it seems there  were a whole load of them.

Though the theatrical version of the film is long at 155 minutes it seems there was a near four hour version of the film although its unlieklyt that will see the light of day with Muschietti saying, ‘“ I’m definitely more happy with this [theatrical] version than the four-hour version.

But those cameos that were cut from The Flash seemed to be all in the final climatic sequence  that plundered the back catalogue of previous stars who had played significant roles in the DC superhero universe. So among the cameos that hit the cutting room floor were 1970s Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter, Marlon Brando as Jor-El, Burgess Meredith as The Penguin and Cesar Romero as The Joker.

Producer Barbara Muschietti says: “The universes start colliding, and we had a lot more characters that we all know that we had to let go because there just wasn’t the time.”

Whether these will appear in a sequel are yet to be confirmed and much depends on how the film performs at the box office over the next few weeks
