Both Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx (at the ‘Just Mercy’ premiere HERE) have been keeping a low profile of late but now there comes news of their latest project with a ‘Strays’ film, a canine comedy that will strut into cinemas on June 9th 2023.
The film is a live-action/CGI hybrid directed by Josh Greenbaum from a script by Dan Perrault which follows an abandoned dog who teams up with other strays to get revenge on his former owner. Ferrell is the abandoned dog while Foxx is one of the pooches who befriends him. Will Forte is the snarly human owner.
The Strays film is from Picturestart productions and Phil Lord / Chris Miller whose Spiderverse and recent The Mitchells vs the Machines rehabilitated them after the Solo debacle and the project falls under Lord Miller’s first-look deal with Universal
